Please become a fan of Missouri Senator Jolie Justus, tell her whether you are or not a constituent and then urge her to sponsor a Medical Marijuana Bill in the Senate for the chronically ill.

Dear Friends,
Pre-filing of bills has already began on Tuesday, on December 1st! The sooner a bill is filed, the better its chances of moving forward - unfortunate there currently there is no bill filed. But I did get a response from Kate Meiners office saying she will be introducing a bill in to the House and she's done so the last 3 years so I have no doubts she will file soon. Without Republican sponsors, the bill will almost certainly die without a committee assignment or hearing.
That's why it is extremely important for you to
contact, but preferably call your State Representative and your Missouri State Senator right away and tell them you are a constituent. introduce yourself, tell them a personal story as to why you would need medical marijuana or you want the right to put what you want in your body and it happens to be safer. Ask them to co-sponsor a medical marijuana bill in the Missouri Senate this year. Point out that the
American Medical Association now has recognized that marijuana has medical use. The AMA has not endorsed state medical marijuana programs, but it has dropped its former opposition to use of marijuana as medicine.
The American College of Physicians,
American Nurses Association and
many other medical groups have endorsed marijuana as medicine support ending the criminal prosecution of patients.
Please share with us the responses you get from your state Senator and State Representative along with any local city council would be much appreciated as well. Please contact him or her, even if the Senator is a Republican or has previously stated opposition to the issue.
The new AMA position, the federal decision to not prosecute those who comply with state laws and the progress on the issue in other states make it likely that some will reconsider their opposition. We really need a Republican sponsor, but any Senate sponsor would be a great step forward!
Click here to look-up and contact your State Senator - send email, but also call, fax and postal mail. Thanks.

Remind them that the Obama administration has officially declared that it will not interfere with state medical marijuana programs that do not violate state laws. Now is the time to contact theses guys. What will probably be necessary to ultimate success in the legislature is Republican co-sponsorship. So please write and call those GOP Senators and Representatives as well.
